Step 1: Our Wedding Day*

Directions:
The wedding ceremony will be held at Sir Sanford Fleming Park on Dingle Road in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and will start at 3:00 pm, so please try to arrive by 2:30 at the latest. Also, it will be held outdoors (rain or shine), so please prepare for the weather!

After the ceremony, the wedding party will be heading to the Halifax Public Gardens on Spring Garden Road. We're planning to arrive there around 4:00 pm. It's the most beautiful place in the city to have wedding pictures taken, so don't forget your cameras!

Once we've satisfied the papparazzi, We'll make our way over to the reception at the Cole Harbour Fire Hall, 1150 Cole Harbour Rd. We moved the reception from Gatsby's because Gatsby's too small for the amount of people we invited.

Here's some important information about our wedding that you should know:
Most weddings end up costing the bride & groom thousands of dollars. Since we don't have thousands of dollars, Melissa and I are cutting corners and minimizing costs wherever possible for our wedding, mainly so we can start saving to get back to Vancouver much faster than if we spent thousands of dollars on our wedding.
We've decided not to have a honeymoon right after the wedding. Once we get to Vancouver we will start planning a belated honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii, as we originally planned, but for now the most important thing is to move back out West so I can get my old job with eBay back, so we can raise our family above the poverty line, something that's almost impossible here in N.S.
We're saving as much money as we can on our wedding. Because of this, our wedding and reception will be a little different than your typical wedding, in the following ways:
- Dress Code: Sub-Formal. Don't feel like you have to dress yourself up in the most expensive Armani tuxedo you can find. We want you to dress nice, but try to find something nice in your closet before you go buying an outfit or suit for the occasion.
- Reception: 'Stripped down'. This means that unlike most wedding receptions, we won't be supplying dinner or drinks for our guests. We're putting together a few platters of finger foods, casseroles, salads, etc., and any guests who feel like contributing something tasty from their kitchen, feel free, just contact us to let us know what you're bringing. There will be a cash bar provided by the fire hall, but we're not going to pay for a separate liquor license, so please don't bring your own alcohol, we don't want to get in trouble on our wedding day.
- Wedding gifts: Cash, please? The whole point of us having a cheap-ass wedding is so we can afford to move back to Vancouver quickly, so why not help us achieve that goal? We already own a toaster, some fancy dishes, a set of steak knives, and various other knick-knacks that are usually given out as wedding gifts. What we really need to start our new life together is money that we can use to move our family to Vancouver, where we will have the financial stability we can't find in Halifax. So if you're planning on getting us a gift, consider getting us an envelope with some moola in it instead.
